The Truth About America’s Division: I Dare You to Read This

Anyone who has not been living under a rock since the inauguration of President Donald Trump is fully aware of how divided our country is. Since that day in January 2017, legions of previously dormant leftists have seized every possible opportunity to make it clear how dissatisfied they are with the state of the country. We are all aware that these leftists are becoming increasingly more aggressive in their tactics. They are resorting to bullying, harassment, and even violence to get what they want.

Tensions are now boiling over thanks to a Senate that doesn’t have the courage to do the right thing with the Kavanaugh confirmation. But even if judge Kavanaugh is confirmed, that won’t stop the leftists from continuing to pursue their agenda. Their entire goal, as is now plain to see by anyone willing to face the truth, is the transformation of America into a socialist state eerily similar to Stalin’s Russia and Hitler’s Germany.

Someone has to say it, so I guess I will: The blame for everything that is now going on lies squarely at the feet of the Christian Church.

If you are a born-again believer, you can hate me all you want for saying such a drastic thing, but don’t let your reaction to my statement stop you from reading the rest of this post. In fact, I dare you to read it to the end. And yes, I am purposely being provocative. The Church needs a rude slap in the face to wake her up. If being provocative is what it takes, so be it.

God Does Not Break His Promises

God promised his people in the Old Testament that he would abundantly bless them if they obeyed and  served him. By the same token, he also promised a curse if they turned their backs on him. It is as plain as day if you’re willing to read the Scriptures and believe what they say. Check it out yourself. Read Deut. chpt. 28 in it’s entirety.

Here are just two small samples:

“And it shall come to pass, if you shall hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD your God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command you this day, that the LORD your God will set you on high above all nations of the earth: and all these blessings shall come on you, and overtake you, if you shall hearken unto the voice of the LORD your God. Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your ground, and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your kine, and the flocks of your sheep. Blessed shall be your basket and your store. Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.” (Deut. 28:1-6)

“But it shall come to pass, if you will not hearken unto the voice of the LORD your God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command you this day; that all these curses shall come upon you, and overtake you: cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the field. Cursed shall be your basket and your store. Cursed shall be the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your land, the increase of your kine, and the flocks of your sheep. Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.” (Deut. 28:15-19)

God makes no bones about it. His people — and by extension their nation — will either be blessed or cursed based on their willingness to serve him. Nothing has changed. There is nothing in the New Testament that says God’s people are excused from obedience and service because of what Jesus did on the cross. If anything, the New Testament is a reminder that Jesus’ work on the cross requires us to serve God — because he has purchased our souls through the blood of his Son!

God does not break his promises. And so we are held accountable to Deut. 28 just as the Old Testament saints were. We have no excuses. Moreover, we are deluding ourselves if we think we can continue behaving like pagans without suffering the consequences thereof.

Pastors, Take Back Your Pulpits

Pastors, you deserve a lot of the blame here. And before you get yourself worked into a tizzy, know that I spent eight years serving as a senior pastor. I am fully aware of what I am saying.

Your responsibility is to stand behind the pulpit and declare the absolute truth of God from Genesis to Revelation. That includes talking about sin and repentance. It includes talking about Israel’s judgment at the hands of Assyria and Babylon. It includes talking about all of the ugly events of Judges and the major and minor prophets. So act like a man and take back your pulpit.

Since the start of the Jesus movement in the 1950s, the truth of God’s Word has been replaced by a positive and FALSE gospel that refuses to speak anything that might be perceived as negative. Our Sunday sermons have coddled America’s Christians to the point of pathetic inability to comprehend even the basics of the faith.

This false gospel has even spread the lie that there’s nothing human beings can do to please God. If that were true, entire portions of Scripture would have to be deleted from our Bibles. But it’s not true. And those portions of Scripture remain intact and every bit inspired by the Holy Ghost.

Over the last 70 years, great men of God willing to teach and preach God’s Word as written — despite the consequences — have been replaced by seminary-trained religious workers unwilling to say it like it is. Unfortunately, many pastors can’t even live up to their divine calling because they are Scripturally illiterate themselves.

I can’t remember the last time I heard a detailed sermon explaining what genuine Godly repentance looks like. I can’t remember the last time I heard a detailed sermon on the wickedness of sin, the realities of hell, the wrath of God, and the previously mentioned blessings and cursings of the Old Testament.

All we hear these days is that Jesus loves us and wants us to be part of a community. There is no talk of holiness, righteousness, sanctification, etc. As a result, Christians no longer know the difference between right and wrong. They are not spiritually equipped to stand against sins ranging from sexual impurity to dishonesty to pride.

Meanwhile, the world we are supposed to reach with the gospel stands on the corner and laughs themselves silly as we parade around our church buildings thinking we are doing God’s work. In reality, we are nothing but spiritually spoiled children demanding weekly participation trophies that send us home feeling good about ourselves.

Pastors, start acting like men and take your pulpits back. What you model from the pulpit is what your people will do at home. If you don’t have the backbone to teach and preach the entire Word of God, as written, and from Genesis to Revelation, the people who sit in your pews will not have the backbone to study it themselves. The result will be a church that continues to stand by as the leftists march on and take over.

Pastors, I dare you to start preaching about repentance. Not repentance among the lost, but repentance among the saved. The Bible says judgement begins at the house of God (I Pet. 4:17, Jer. 25:27-29). It’s true.

Why did Israel and Judah fall? Not because of the pagans living around them, but because God’s people were idolaters. They were idolaters being led by spineless pastors who would rather lie to keep the peace than tell the truth and face the consequences (Jer. 12:10+11, Jer. 23:1+2). If they had repented and turned their hearts back to God, the Assyrian and Babylonian invasions would never have happened.

Christians, It’s Time to Grow Up

My fellow Christians, hear this: we have no one to blame but ourselves for the mess we now find ourselves in. God’s promise to bless, prosper, and protect us has not changed. The leftists are marching on because God has pulled his hand of blessing away from us. That hand of blessing has been replaced by a curse befitting of a people who treat  God as though he is nothing more than a celestial Santa Claus or an old buddy willing to pull up a stool at the bar.

Go ahead and vote in November. It is your civic responsibility and the right thing to do. But don’t expect an election to change anything. The leftists are being used by Satan himself to turn the U.S. into a socialist country.

By the way, did you know that socialism cannot tolerate liberty, freedom, or Biblical worship? All three are in direct contrast to socialism’s ultimate goal. So if we allow the leftists to prevail via our unwillingness to repent, you can kiss those things goodbye. We will be holding church services in the basement with lights off and curtains drawn in hopes that no jack-booted thugs come to the door.

The only thing that is going to stop the leftist march is divine intervention. And God is only going to intervene if his people grow up and repent. And when I say  repent, I’m referring to something that requires genuine action. I’m talking about submitting ourselves humbly to the Creator of the Universe, submitting to his Word as written, and living lives of obedience.

God Bless What?

In closing, let me just say how disturbed I am by Christians asking God to bless America. I find it appalling. I find it absolutely revolting to listen to people sing God Bless America at a baseball or football game.

What are we asking him to bless? Millions of babies aborted every year? Are we asking him to bless a country that condones gay marriage; a country that is the largest single producer and consumer pornography; a country that celebrates all sorts of gender-bending perversion? Are we asking him to bless a country that thinks nothing of sending its children to be trained by a godless school system that is openly hostile to him?

Asking God to bless this sinful, wretched mess is borderline insanity. It’s like Abraham asking God to bless Sodom and Gomorrah.

Fellow Christians, Deut. chpt. 28 is clear in its assertion that God will not bless a people that have turned their backs on him. We can’t have it both ways. We either repent, serve him, and get our country back, or we continue living like pagans until we are enslaved by the leftists.

That’s the truth, whether you can handle it or not.

You are spot on. There is another false doctrine that a lot of people have latched onto and won’t let go. That doctrine of once saved always saved is an absolute lie. I described it to my sister once as the following story.

I gave you the keys to my home and told you anytime you wanted or needed you could come on in. Years have gone by and you never contacted me or came into my home. You did not particpate in anything I gave you or even thanked me for it. So at one point I decided to keep a troublesome person out of my house and changed the locks. Finally you remembered my key and tried to use it but couldn’t get in.

YHVH gave the key. Have you accomplished what He asked of you? Did you contact Him? Did you even thank Him for all He gave you? There are ways of pleasing Him and one of those is to live by His will.
